This style is like a breath of fresh air. Nice vibrant colors, awesome circular atmosphere, and cool zombie shark. Keep on keeping on.

Comick responds:

ah many thanks for the review man! i will keep it up! and thanks for looking at it :)

I am extremely curious to as how you made this, like what combination of programs and techniques?

5urface responds:

I used mainly Photshop and Gimp for composing the image. The different picture elements are either rendered, painted or foto manipulations.
As for techniques and workflow it would be a little too time consuming to describe that but general matte painting and space art techniques apply ;)

Your 3D faux paint style would be AMAZING for cutscenes in a video game. Impressive. As a standalone it does quite well also. I'm sure this must have took like several hours to setup in something like Maya or Blender, maybe 3 hours for the rendering? Definitely equates to the amount of time it would take to paint it from scratch. I hope people don't take your work the wrong way because everything is 3D'ed.

samulis responds:

This took me a hour or two at most to setup and about 10 seconds to render. :P

I use a WYSIWYG (i.e. "real-time") program called iClone. It's nowhere near as powerful as Blender or Maya, but it's sure as hell 100x easier and faster.

Beyond the beyond dude, like far out.

Definitely Pieta inspired. The Description is beautiful, the eggshell like platform elevates the two characters. The whole eggshell breaking thing presupposes some allegory, I like how deep this goes. Concept is awesome, the colors are pretty simple, but effective. Like! 5 stars!

The levitation is the icing on the cake. That alone just, wow. Oh and awesome detailing and design for that matter.

Beyond amazing dude...but the stringed hair is a bit too sharp, maybe tone it down so we can appreciate the overall aura of the artwork.

Interesting approach of a triptych, it'll be intriguing as to see how you evolve this concept...but gorgeous artwork as usual and good soft lighting.

It must have been hard utilizing fewer brushstrokes to invoke such realism (even if you shrunk it). Wildly impressionistic in approach. The middle one screams Dali-inspired. The 2nd and 5th ones are my favorite, and it has the most energy and layering in terms of color. As a series, it works pretty well, though I feel as if the 3rd one stands out by itself. The way you are eroding an elderly woman back into the Earth and into the clouds (life into death) is awesome. The 2D shadows are a plus. I hope there are more detailed reviews about this! It deserves it!

Sulup responds:

Thank you for a very inspired review!

It's like somebody from the 1920's is trying to extrude her presence into our reality. That sepia tone did wonders for this realistic drawing, great job bro.

An animating night owl...without the whole 360 head turn.
