Wow. This is a breathtaking homage to KMS. Like Nick said, I got lost in the many, many instruments layered over it...but I really enjoyed that. I guess it's a personal taste. And at 3:14 I was like Wooah, man did this track took a dark turn! Overall, superb job!

Phonometrologist responds:

Wow I wouldn't have expected a comment like that, but I'm grateful that you enjoyed it as such.
In regards to 3:14, perhaps I took the title of the track too literally.

This is simply brilliant. I'm a total sucker for the transition between Quarl and Phonometrologist, it's on constant replay. Everyone did one heck of a job. Musicians need more exposure on here!

It was awesome working with you, and I look forward for possible future endeavors! By itself it's probably one of the best soundtracks you have done up to date. Amazing work, keep it up!

Mattashi responds:

Thanks man! I had a great time working with you, really glad you asked me to do the score :)

とても悲しい音楽だよ。そらと この音楽は 同じだそう。質問があるね。ピアノを引いたのが だれですか。本当の上手...

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

聞いてくれて、ありがとうございました!
ピアノを引いたのは、私です。

I can't even begin to describe what this particular ambient track emits, but if there's a word to describe what this is, I think that word would be translucent. All of your sounds and instruments diffuse effortlessly into one another, like one big, continuous ripple...probably because you intended to use reverb and muddiness like you say in your description. This will be on repeat for awhile until I can grasp what it is about this I'm so awestruck about :D

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Why thank you CrabbWalker, I am flattered :)
I understand why you think the word "translucent" is apt to describe this track, and I can kind of agree.
Well, part of the reason to me is that I actually used crystal glass for some of the sounds, but otherwise as well, I see what you mean. That said, I imagine darkness as well. Not empty darkness though. There is intention behind this piece; someone, or something, hiding in the darkness wants something. But what that somethin is, is not clear. That's just how I see it though :p
I love reading the interpretations by other people :D

It's definitely the reverb that helps everything melt together and kind of softly appear and disappear without causing too much of a disturbance ;)

He took many heavy steps into the air of melancholy. Defeat awaited his arrival, in the form of what was once his sanctuary. Gravity snug his townspeople warm, for the dark sword had slain them. He smelled the mixtures of blood and soot– every glance was a nightmare befallen. He was in shock, that upon his return, over 200 of his kin's body parts were scattered and suspended in the fog of the Abyss. Like sin in solid form, holding the shells of his former lights hostage. Young Knight Artorias had experienced Magus's aftermath...and now he's sworn for a lifetime of revenge.

Stadler responds:

I read this while listening through the song. It's pretty amazing! And actually quite accurate to the scene I was picturing while writing this.

Thanks for listening!

Started as if it was the next Mirror's Edge II soundtrack, then it mellowed down as if it was the starting music to an Assassin's Creed game. Professional, simplistic, and sleek. Loved how vibrant the claps and voices were in the mid-section of it. Great Job overall

Mattashi responds:

Thanks CrabbWalker :)

This is crazy! How were you able to mix so many cultural sounds without making it sound chaotic?

DanJohansen responds:

I can't really explain it man, I just make and adjust the mix as I go along until I am satisfied. A lot of EQ'ing and volume adjustments I guess. :D So much fun to mix stuff together that wasn't meant to be mixed together.

Love how airy the entire soundtrack feels. Awesome progression throughout!

DanJohansen responds:

Thanks a ton Crabb, I love fast paced tracks :D

I like the violin in the beginning, like the notes were trying to kickstart the score into motion lol. Orchestra is banging as always.

samulis responds:

WUB WUB WUB. :D

An animating night owl...without the whole 360 head turn.
